Tiger Den, Ranthambore
Ranthambhore,
in the state of Rajasthan, is one of the smallest Project Tiger reserves. It's
name comes from the vast fort that stands in the middle of the forest. The name
Ranthambore is derived from two hills in the area, Ran and Thanbhor. Another
version says that Ranthambhore was once called Rana Stambhapura or City of the
Pillars of War! The Tiger Den Resort is barely five minutes drive to the main entrance of the park, just next to the Helipad. It boasts of 18 air conditioned cottages and 2 special suits. Each cottage features all modern amenities and luxury equipments. A well planned landscaping adds on to the rustic ambiance and enhance the natural beauty.
The air conditioned cottages offer an atmosphere of comfort and care and are tastefully decorated to compliment the picturesque beauty outside. Each cottage with its large window overlooks the nature cuddled Aravali Range, evoking the myriad wild images associated with the Ranthambhor National Park.
